Amelogenesis impefecta is a hereditary
condition affecting the formation of enamel in which the rough
enamel surface can compromise periodontal health and the esthetics.
Affected posterior teeth usually exhibit interproximal space loss
which makes restoration of the primary molars difficult. This
article describes a technique, using separators to regain interproximal
space prior to the placement of stainless steel crowns on the
molars of a girl with amelogenesis imperfecta.
